Welcome
A message from The Watford 150th Committee Chair, Joe Manning:
On June 25, 2023 the town of Watford will turn 150 years old!
To celebrate this milestone, a Watford 150th Planning Committee was established and committee members, along with subcommittee volunteers, are busy organizing a three-day celebration for the community.
Watford’s Sesquicentennial will focus on the rich history of the area throughout the decades, leading into the millennial, and celebrate the many achievements that have shaped our community and the place in which we live today.
We have carefully chosen many local artisans to participate in our weekend event, as we feel it is important to support local while celebrating our town and local community.
We would like to thank the Government of Canada for providing funding for the celebration through the Celebrating Communities Fund, as well as our community partners, Lambton County Archives, Lambton Heritage Museum, Tourism Sarnia-Lambton, Watford Optimist Club, and Stone Pickers Brewing Company.
Something to note is that the Planning Committee wanted to offer a celebration free of charge to attendees and most of the scheduled events are complimentary. While some events have a fee, please know that this is to cover costs associated with prizes, and to host the event.
Our committee would like to take this opportunity to thank the individuals and groups who donated their time or provided a discounted rate to help make this happen!
Hosting an event of this magnitude would not be possible without the many wonderful community members and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and offered to help. Anyone who would like to assist in the weekend celebration is welcome to contact any committee member, or email us directly though this website in the contact section below.
We look forward to celebrating this milestone event with you all!
Kind regards,
Joe Manning
Chair, Watford 150th Committee
